A N A C T

RELATING TO BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONS - PHARMACIES

     

     

     Introduced By: Representatives Ucci, Bennett, Menard, McNamara, and Keable

     Date Introduced: January 24, 2012

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 5-19.1 of the General Laws entitled "Pharmacies" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     5-19.1-32. Prescription labels and literature for persons who are blind or visually

1-4

impaired. – Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary contained in any general or

1-5

public law, rule or regulation, upon request by any person who is blind or visually impaired, the

1-6

pharmacy shall provide prescription labels and accompanying literature in an enlarged font,

1-7

Braille or tactile format.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
