RELATING TO STATE AFFAIRS AND GOVERNMENT -- DEPARTMENT OF

ADMINISTRATION

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 42-11 of the General Laws entitled "Department of

Administration" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     42-11-22. Approval of contracts for nonprofit organizations or agencies. –

Notwithstanding any public law or general law of the state of Rhode Island to the contrary, more

1-5

specifically chapter 37-2, the director of administration shall not approve any contract or contract

1-6

for services with a nonprofit organization or agency unless the organization or agency fully

1-7

discloses all executives’ compensation and administrative costs which shall be considered by the

1-8

director when awarding the contract. The department of administration is hereby authorized to

1-9

promulgate rules and regulations to carry out the purpose of this section.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
