RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY - RESOURCE RECOVERY CORPORATION | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

     SECTION 1. Chapter 23-19 of the General Laws entitled "Rhode Island Resource |

Recovery Corporation" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |

     23-19-13.6. Disposal of construction and demolition debris. – (a) No resource recovery |
1-4 |
system or facility made available by the corporation shall accept any construction and demolition |
1-5 |
(C&D) debris, including wood (including painted, treated and coated wood and wood products), |
1-6 |
wall coverings, plaster, drywall, plumbing fixtures, non-asbestos insulation, roofing shingles and |
1-7 |
other roof coverings, and glass. Any facility violating the provisions of this section shall be fined |
1-8 |
not less than two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500), nor more than five thousand dollars |
1-9 |
($5,000). The fine shall be paid to the city or town in which the facility is located. |
1-10 |
     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
