CONGRATULATING DORY E. ENRIGHT ON BEING NAMED VALEDICTORIAN OF THE

LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2012

     WHEREAS, It is fitting that this House of Representatives recognizes those students

1-2

who, through their talents and unflagging commitment to excellence, have distinguished

1-3

themselves in both academia and in their communities; and

1-4

     WHEREAS Dory E. Enright, the daughter of Kenneth and Faye Enright of Lincoln, is

1-5

one such exceptional student. She has not only been named Valedictorian of the 2012 graduating

1-6

class at Lincoln High School by achieving the highest grade point average in her class, but she

1-7

has also attained a profundity of honors and awards; and

1-8

     WHEREAS, During her remarkable high school career, Ms. Enright distinguished herself

1-9

as a multifaceted individual through her participation in several extracurricular endeavors,

1-10

including serving as parliamentarian on the Student Council, participating in the school variety

1-11

show, and being a member of the school’s basketball, volleyball, and softball teams; and

1-12

     WHEREAS, No stranger to scholastic honors and accolades, Dory’s academic

1-13

achievements include being a member of the National and Rhode Island Honor Societies. She

1-14

was the winner of the Harvard Book Award in 2011 and the Rensselaer Medal Award in 2011,

1-15

and is a National Merit Scholarship finalist. She also serves as the Hugh O'Brian Youth

1-16

Leadership ambassador from Lincoln; and

1-17

     WHEREAS, In the fall, Dory will be attending Denison University in Ohio to study

1-18

biology and pursue a career as a veterinarian. This noteworthy achievement is most certainly a

1-19

tremendous source of pride for not only her parents, but also for her school and community; now,

1-20

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

2-2

Providence Plantations hereby honors and congratulates Dory E. Enright on being named

2-3

Valedictorian of the Lincoln High School Class of 2012. The entire membership extends best

2-4

wishes for her continued success and happiness; and be it further

2-5

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

2-6

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Dory E. Enright.
