WHEREAS, In a society where temptations for young people seem to be on the rise and |
1-2 |
misguided decisions seem more easily attainable, it takes a very special young man to voluntarily |
1-3 |
dedicate himself to serving others and put into practice the noble ideals of the Scout Oath and |
1-4 |
Scout Law. Neal Patrick Pyne is such a special young man, and certainly his accomplishments |
1-5 |
should not go unrecognized; and |
1-6 |
WHEREAS, Using his skills and abilities for the common good, he has earned the |
1-7 |
required Merit Badges, and has excelled in many leadership positions, such as Den Chief, |
1-8 |
Quartermaster, and Troop Representative to the Abnaki Lodge of the Order of the Arrow. |
1-9 |
Through perseverance and determination, he has attained the highest rank in scouting, the Eagle, |
1-10 |
by meeting all the extensive requirements; and |
1-11 |
WHEREAS, Neal’s Eagle Project was to take on the challenge of organizing and |

planning the demolition of a chimney and interior walls of a three-story tenement house, thus |

helping the Providence Rescue Mission rehabilitate the home for use as a women and children’s |
1-14 |
shelter in Providence. Neal and fellow scouts devoted countless hours and an amazing amount of |
1-15 |
energy carrying out his project; and |
1-16 |
WHEREAS, During his time with Troop 1, from East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Neal has |
1-17 |
participated in numerous outdoor adventures, including Allagash, Sea Base, and hikes up Mount |
1-18 |
Khatadin, Mount Washington, Mount Monadnock, and across the White Mountains. Neal’s most |
1-19 |
memorable event as a scout was the summer of 2010 when he attended the National Jamboree in |
1-20 |
Fort AP Hill, Virginia with thousands of other scouts from across the United States, who were all |
2-1 |
celebrating 100 years of scouting; and |
2-2 |
WHEREAS, Neal also finds the time and energy to be active at school. He has been |
2-3 |
involved in the Best Buddies Club and a member of the Foil Team at Rhode Island Fencing |
2-4 |
Academy and Club. Upon graduation, he plans to attend college in pursuit of a degree in |
2-5 |
healthcare; and |
2-6 |
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout requires considerable perseverance. This |
2-7 |
significant achievement is a landmark very few men will ever reach in their lives. Neal Patrick |
2-8 |
Pyne upholds the dignity and virtue of a true Eagle, and has proven himself to be worthy of trust |
