RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING KAMRAN AMIR JONES UPON ACHIEVING | |

SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |

WHEREAS, Earning an Eagle Scout Badge is the pinnacle of achievement within the |
|

Boy Scouts of America. It is an exceptional distinction achieved by fewer than five percent of all |
|

the young men who enter scouting; and |
|
1-4 |
WHEREAS, Kamran Amir Jones is a remarkable young man worthy of this prestigious |
|
1-5 |
achievement and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and |
|
1-6 |
WHEREAS, Learning important lifelong skills and values, Kamran earned twenty-one |
|
1-7 |
merit badges and served in leadership positions within Troop 1, East Greenwich, including Patrol |
|
1-8 |
Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Quartermaster; and |
|
1-9 |
WHEREAS, As the highlight of his scouting years and to complete the final step toward |
|
1-10 |
obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, Kamran Amir Jones planned and carried out an extensive |
|
1-11 |
Eagle Scout service project. Kamran and his fellow scouts participated in a clean up at Goddard |
|
1-12 |
Park, which consisted of a thorough cleaning of overgrown trails, leading to the revival of hidden |
|
1-13 |
trails. In addition, Kamran produced modified trail maps to accompany future trail walkers. |
|
1-14 |
Kamran and fellow scouts devoted countless hours and an amazing amount of energy carrying out |
|
1-15 |
his project for the benefit of the community and visitors; and |
|
1-16 |
WHEREAS, Kamran is a graduate of East Greenwich High School, where he was a |
|
1-17 |
member of the baseball, basketball, and varsity football teams. He is currently attending the |
|
1-18 |
University of Rhode Island pursuing a degree in dentistry; and |
|
1-19 |
WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to |
|
1-20 |
celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Kamran Amir Jones exemplifies everything |
|

an Eagle Scout should be and all that we hope our children will grow to be; now, therefore be it |
|
2-2 |
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
|
2-3 |
hereby honors Kamran Amir Jones for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle within the Boy |
|
2-4 |
Scouts of America; and be it further |
|
2-5 |
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island extends our deepest |
|
2-6 |
appreciation to Kamran Amir Jones for his untiring service to the community and for setting a |
|
2-7 |
high standard of commitment and dedication by which youth of this great state may follow. We |
|
2-8 |
proffer our very best wishes for good health and happiness in the months and years ahead; and be |

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
