RELATING TO WATERS AND NAVIGATION

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 46-13 of the General Laws entitled "Public Drinking Water

Supply" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     46-13-23. Radon reduction. -- All public water supply systems as defined in subdivision

1-4

46-13-2(3) and that use ground water or mixed ground and surface water shall reduce radon

levels in drinking water to a maximum of four thousand (4,000) pCi/L no later than January 1,

2015.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

     This act would provide that public water systems would reduce radon levels in drinking
