EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE | |
HONORABLE DONALD KING | |

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of the Honorable |

Donald King, a man who was deeply devoted to his family. Our thoughts and hearts hold great |

empathy and sorrow for his family. We grieve with his sons, Kevin F. King, Donald E. King, and |
1-4 |
Timothy J. King, and daughters Donna L. Faria and Patricia M. King. He was the loving |
1-5 |
grandfather to Corrie, Ryan, Timothy, Jessica, and Michelle, and the great-grandfather of Alfred. |
1-6 |
He also leaves his siblings, Joseph L. King and Karen Folco. He was preceded in death by his |
1-7 |
brother, Michael King. He was also the loving husband of the late Gail H. (Cunningham) |
1-8 |
Hargreaves; and |
1-9 |
WHEREAS, Donald was born in Providence, the son of the late Joseph and Lillian |
1-10 |
(Broule) King; and |
1-11 |
WHEREAS, Mr. King kept busy as a member of the Rhode Island General Assembly, |
1-12 |
where he represented District 1-Smith Hill for two years. He was also a member of the Elks |
1-13 |
Lodge #14, in Providence; and |
1-14 |
WHEREAS, For many years before retiring, Donald was a general contractor with King |
1-15 |
Associates; and |
1-16 |
WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of |
1-17 |
Donald, so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which he lived every day of |
1-18 |
his life; and |
1-19 |
WHEREAS, A devoted father, grandfather, and brother and a man committed to |
1-20 |
improving the world around him, the Honorable Donald King will live on for many years to come |
2-1 |
in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have been touched by the quality of this |
2-2 |
remarkable gentleman; now, therefore be it |
2-3 |
RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-4 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the family of the Honorable Donald King. He will be |
2-5 |
truly missed; and be it further |
2-6 |
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-7 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the King Family. |
