EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF NICOLE B. CIANCI | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Nicole |

Cianci, beloved wife of Joseph Amar and the devoted mother of Olivia, Joseph, and Julius; and |
1-3 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Providence to former Providence Mayor Vincent A. Cianci, Jr., and |
1-4 |
Sheila Bentley McKenna, Nicole was the granddaughter of the late Esther and Dr. Vincent A. |
1-5 |
Cianci and the late Dr. D. Gilbert and Loretta Bentley. She leaves three half-brothers, Michael |
1-6 |
Gorriaran, Steven Gorriaran, and Daniel Gorriaran, and an aunt and uncle, Carol and Dr. John |
1-7 |
Turchetta; and |
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, Nicole attended the Wheeler and Lincoln Schools in Providence and was a |
1-9 |
graduate of School One. She had been employed by the Nickerson Community Center and the |
1-10 |
Providence Community Action Program (ProCAP); and |
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, Nicole’s loving personality emerged in myriad ways. She was the kind of |
1-12 |
mother that every child needs and deserves and she created a home that was warm and |
1-13 |
welcoming. She was a lover of animals and had an empathy and compassion for the elderly and |
1-14 |
those in need; and |
1-15 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to her family life and employment, Nicole had volunteered for |
1-16 |
many organizations, including the George Wiley Center in Pawtucket. She was also a proud |
1-17 |
member of the Providence 12th Ward Democratic Committee; and |
1-18 |
     WHEREAS, Nicole Cianci was the heart and soul of her family. Her kindheartedness |
1-19 |
and sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories of her |
1-20 |
entire family. She enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have known her. She will |
2-1 |
be dearly missed and always remembered; now, therefore be it |
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-3 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Nicole B. Cianci; and be it further |
2-4 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-5 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Joseph Amar and Family. |
