EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF MARY ANN ALMEIDA | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Mary Ann |

Almeida, a woman who was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Mary Ann was born in |
1-3 |
Providence, Rhode Island, seventy-four years ago. She was the daughter of the late Anthony S. |
1-4 |
and Mary Julia (Mansi) Marabello and the wife for many wonderful years of the late Arthur |
1-5 |
Almeida; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold great empathy and sorrow for her family. We |
1-7 |
grieve with her daughter, Lori Almeida, her son, Robert "Rob" Almeida, grandchildren Alex and |
1-8 |
Ryan Almeida and Bennett and Marlowe Kulla, brother, Frank Marabello, and sister, Carol |
1-9 |
Cook; and |
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by |
1-11 |
two brothers, Gaetano "Guy" and Anthony E. "Junior" Marabello; and |
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, Mary Ann was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1955. |
1-13 |
Before retiring several years ago, she worked as a waitress at Van's Spa in Bristol. She also |
1-14 |
worked for the former Almacs Grocery Stores in its East Providence office, as well as a clerk at |
1-15 |
Brooks Pharmacy in Bristol for a few years; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, In her free time, Mary Ann was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount |
1-17 |
Carmel Church in Bristol and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society. She was an avid Bingo |
1-18 |
player; and |
1-19 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of Mary |
1-20 |
Ann, so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which she lived every day of |
2-1 |
her life; and |
2-2 |
     WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Mary Ann Almeida will |
2-3 |
live on for many years to come in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have been |
2-4 |
touched by the quality of this remarkable woman; now, therefore be it |
2-5 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-6 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the family of Mary Ann Almeida. She will be truly |
2-7 |
missed; and be it further |
2-8 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-9 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the children of Mary Ann Almeida. |
