EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF NANCY M. SCROGEY | |

     WHEREAS, It is with the utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |

Nancy M. (Lolicata) Scrogey, a woman whose greatest joy was found in the simple pleasure of |
1-3 |
spending time with her dear family. Born eight-nine years ago to the late Manuel and Georgianna |
1-4 |
(DeMello) Lolicata, Nancy was the wife of the late Joseph E. Scrogey and was a life-long |
1-5 |
resident of Smithfield; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold empathy and sorrow for her family. We grieve |
1-7 |
with her daughter, Joanne Driscoll and her husband, John. Nancy was the proud and doting |
1-8 |
grandmother of Joseph Driscoll and his wife, Sara, and Kaitlyn Driscoll; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her |
1-10 |
two brothers, Anthony and Salvatore, and by her sister, Florence Lolicata; and |
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, Before retiring, Nancy worked for the A. T. Cross Co., as well as for Mine |
1-12 |
Safety Appliances; and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of |
1-14 |
Nancy, so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which she lived every day of |
1-15 |
her life; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Our greatest tribute to Nancy would be to emulate the attributes which made |
1-17 |
her an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Nancy M. Scrogey will live on for |
1-18 |
many years to come in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have been touched by the |
1-19 |
quality of this remarkable woman; now, therefore be it |
1-20 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
1-21 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the family of Nancy M. Scrogey at this time of |
2-1 |
tremendous loss and grief. She will be truly missed; and be it further |
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-3 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to her daughter, Mrs. Joanne Driscoll. |
