RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING SAMUEL VAUGHN NARKAWICZ UPON | |
ACHIEVING SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE | |

     WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America has a long and impressive history of preparing |

young men to assume responsibility in their communities. The Boy Scouts of America is one of |
1-3 |
the largest youth organizations in the United States. The rank of Eagle Scout, which was first |
1-4 |
introduced in 1911, is the highest a young man can attain in the Boy Scouts, and the title of Eagle |
1-5 |
Scout is held for life; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Samuel Vaughn Narkawicz is a remarkable young man worthy of this |
1-7 |
prestigious achievement and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and |
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, Samuel has distinguished himself through his continued performance of |
1-9 |
active service in Scouting. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership abilities and has exhibited |
1-10 |
a strong sense of duty, honor, and patriotism, making him a clear example of the best qualities of |
1-11 |
American youth; and |
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, Samuel Vaughn Narkawicz of Troop 39, Summit, Rhode Island, has |
1-13 |
completed the arduous and demanding requirements necessary to be awarded the rank of Eagle |
1-14 |
Scout. As the highlight of his scouting years and to complete the final step toward obtaining the |
1-15 |
rank of Eagle, Samuel planned, developed, and carried out an extensive Eagle Scout service |
1-16 |
project. His Eagle Project was to construct a small trail leading to a reflecting area, which |
1-17 |
included benches and a podium at the Summit Baptist Church. The trail was dedicated to his |
1-18 |
Scout Master, Bernie George, and the reflecting area is utilized by the church community and |
1-19 |
Troop 39. Samuel and fellow scouts devoted countless hours and an amazing amount of energy |
1-20 |
carrying out his project for the benefit of the community; and |
2-1 |
     WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth and to |
2-2 |
celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Eagle Scout Samuel Vaughn Narkawicz |

exemplifies everything an Eagle Scout should be and all that we hope our children will grow to |
2-4 |
be; now, therefore be it |

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
2-6 |
Providence Plantations honors Samuel Vaughn Narkawicz for all he has done to attain the rank of |
2-7 |
Eagle within the Boy Scouts of America at his Court of Honor, Saturday, January 5, 2013; and be |
2-8 |
it further |
2-9 |
     RESOLVED, That this House extends our deepest appreciation to Samuel for his untiring |
2-10 |
service to the community and for setting a high standard of commitment and dedication by which |
2-11 |
the youth of this great state may follow. We send our very best wishes to Samuel Vaughn |
2-12 |
Narkawicz and wish him good health and happiness in the months and years ahead; and be it |
2-13 |

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to |
2-15 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Eagle Scout Samuel Vaughn Narkawicz. |
