RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES AND CARRIERS - REGULATION OF

OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 39-3 of the General Laws entitled "Regulatory Powers of

Administration" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

     39-3-45. Regulation of objectionable content. -- The commission may promulgate

reasonable regulations concerning the display of objectionable content. The regulations may

1-5

include adequate warning for material deemed not suitable for viewing by children as well as

1-6

restrictions on material deemed by the commission to be indecent.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
