CONGRATULATING THE WEBELOS FROM PACK 17 BLACKROCK UPON THE | |
OCCASION OF THEIR RECEIVING THE ARROW OF LIGHT AWARD, THE HIGHEST OF | |
CUB SCOUT HONORS | |

     WHEREAS, It is the practice of this House, in accord with its long-standing traditions, |

to honor the youth of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements |

exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great state and nation; and |

     WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to the |
1-5 |
development of our youths’ character and leadership; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Five Webelos from Cub Scout Pack 17, Blackrock, Coventry, Rhode Island, |
1-7 |
through their diligence and vigorous efforts, will achieve the highest of Cub Scout honors, the |
1-8 |
Arrow of Light Award; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, James Almagno, Desmond Baker, Adam Kurtz, Matthew Simoneau, and |
1-10 |
Giovanni Smith are a credit to their family, school, community, state, and nation. These Webelos |
1-11 |
are receiving the Arrow of Light Award as they advance into the Boy Scouts at the Blue and Gold |
1-12 |
Banquet, Saturday, March 16, 2013; and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through the dedication, |
1-14 |
determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding citizens of this nation. It is only with the |
1-15 |
continued diligence and devotion of our youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain |
1-16 |
her glory; now, therefore be it |
1-17 |
     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
1-18 |
Providence Plantations hereby congratulates James Almagno, Desmond Baker, Adam Kurtz, |
1-19 |
Matthew Simoneau, and Giovanni Smith upon the occasion of their receiving the Arrow of Light |
1-20 |
Award, the highest of Cub Scout honors; and be it further |
2-1 |
     RESOLVED, That this House encourages these Webelos to continue with the Boy Scouts |
2-2 |
in recognition of the many ways that Scouting helps promising boys mature into outstanding |
2-3 |
young men; and be it further |

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-5 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the Arrow of Light recipients, James Almagno, |
2-6 |
Desmond Baker, Adam Kurtz, Matthew Simoneau, and Giovanni Smith. |
