CONGRATULATING THE 2012-2013 EXETER/WEST GREENWICH WRESTLING TEAM | |
ON ITS CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON | |

     WHEREAS, For the third straight year, the Exeter/West Greenwich Wrestling Team has |

won the Rhode Island Division II State Championship. This year the team compiled a dominating |

and astounding 17-0 regular season record and won the Rhode Island Division II State |
1-4 |
Championship by more than eighty points over second place finisher Narragansett. The |
1-5 |
Exeter/West Greenwich Wrestling Team has also won two New England wrestling |
1-6 |
championships; and |
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, The 2012-2013 Wrestling Team was led by three Rhode Island All-State |
1-8 |
Wrestlers, Carl Neff and twin brothers Andrew and Christian LaBrie. Carl Neff wrestled at the |
1-9 |
195-pound weight class and went undefeated this season, culminating with his dominating win at |
1-10 |
the Rhode Island State Championship, where he won all four matches with first-minute pins. |
1-11 |
Andrew LaBrie went undefeated this season in the 152-pound weight class and earned the Rhode |
1-12 |
Island and New England titles. He won the New England title in dramatic fashion, taking down |
1-13 |
Connecticut champion Sam Odell in overtime. Christian LaBrie won the Rhode Island and New |
1-14 |
England titles in the 145-pound weight class. He went undefeated in the dual meet season, with |
1-15 |
only one wrestler earning a point against him; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Winning a state championship in any sport, but especially one as grueling as |
1-17 |
wrestling, requires a coaching staff and team willing to sacrifice and work unbelievably hard |
1-18 |
towards their individual and team goals. The incredible success of the Exeter/West Greenwich |
1-19 |
Wrestling Team this season and over the years testifies to the fact that team members are and |
1-20 |
have been dedicated to working tirelessly to achieve success both on the mat and in everyday life. |
