EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF DANIEL T. MALVEY | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Daniel |

T. Malvey, a well-respected citizen of Middletown; and |
1-3 |
     WHEREAS, Daniel leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Cynthia A. Bric-Malvey, |
1-4 |
his loving daughter, Kristyn Lee Malvey, and caring sons Kevin James Malvey and Sean Patrick |
1-5 |
Malvey; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Daniel graduated from Northeastern University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s |
1-7 |
degree in Business Administration. For 30 years, Daniel owned and operated DTM |
1-8 |
Weatherproofing located in Portsmouth, RI; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Throughout his life, in big and not-so-big ways, Daniel demonstrated his |
1-10 |
commitment to the community. He coached football at both Portsmouth Abbey and Tiverton |
1-11 |
High School. He also dedicated many years to the N.E.R.I. Pop Warner, as both coach and |
1-12 |
Commissioner to the league; and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, As a show of gratitude for Daniel’s selfless work on behalf of the |
1-14 |
Middletown High School leagues, Middletown High School granted him a lifetime pass to all |
1-15 |
Middletown High School athletic events; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Despite the pressures from his business and his volunteering, Daniel always |
1-17 |
made sure he took the time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures with family and friends. He enjoyed |
1-18 |
going out for a night of bowling, and his presence at local sports events could not be overlooked, |
1-19 |
especially when his children were involved; and |
1-20 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of |
1-21 |
Daniel, so must we celebrate the spirit, enthusiasm, and devotion with which he lived every day |
2-1 |
of his life; now, therefore be it |
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-3 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to those that knew and loved him, on the passing of |
2-4 |
Daniel T. Malvey; and be it further |
2-5 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the State be and he hereby is authorized and directed |
2-6 |
to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Cynthia A. Bric-Malvey. |
