A N A C T

RELATING TO LIABILITY -- PAWTUCKET PENSION BOARD

     Introduced By: Senators Doyle, Nesselbush, and Crowley

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, any

person serving as a member of the pension board of the city of Pawtucket shall be immune from

any civil liability in that capacity so long as that person acts in good faith, without malice, and not

1-4

for improper personal enrichment in the performance of any duty or prerogative in connection

1-5

with the administration of the pension system.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

EXPLANATION

BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

     This act would exempt persons serving as member of the Pawtucket city pension board

from civil liability while acting as a member as long as they act in good faith.
