It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |

     SECTION 1. Section 17-20-25 of the General Laws in Chapter 17-20 entitled "Mail |

Ballots" is hereby repealed. |

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage and shall apply to all elections and |

unused ballots occurring on and after the effective date. |

     This act would repeal the section of the general laws that makes it mandatory for every |

voter who received a mail ballot, but did not cast his/her vote, to return the unvoted ballot and its |

uncertified enclosing envelope to the state board or local board before nine o’clock (9:00) pm on |
2-4 |
election day. |
2-5 |
     This act would take effect upon passage and would apply to all elections and unused |
2-6 |
ballots occurring on and after the effective date of this act. |
