RELATING TO MILITARY AFFAIRS AND DEFENSE -- VETERANS' AFFAIRS

     Introduced By: Senators Felag, Raptakis, Pearson, Lynch, and Cote

     Date Introduced: February 28, 2013

     Referred To: Senate Special Legislation and Veterans Affairs

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 30-17.1 of the General Laws entitled "Veterans' Affairs" is hereby

amended by adding thereto the following section:

     30-17.1-13. Veterans' "pocket guide" and online resource application. -- Contingent

upon funding:

     (1) The division of veterans' affairs shall produce and annually update a comprehensive

"Pocket Guide Of Veterans' Services." This document shall be concise yet thorough compendium

1-7

of the benefits and services available to veterans in Rhode Island.

     (2) Additionally, the division shall develop and maintain a veterans' online resource

1-9

application of this information.

     (3) The division is hereby authorized to accept grants and donations for this project.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
