RECOGNIZING AND THANKING CHRISTOPHER VAIORA FOR HIS OUTSTANDING | |
EFFORTS DURING THE BLIZZARD OF 2013 | |

     WHEREAS, The Blizzard of 2013 delivered a snowstorm that walloped the Northeast |

with more than 3 feet of snow in some areas and released winds that hit 60 miles per hour; and |
1-3 |
     WHEREAS, Workers from the Department of Transportation, municipal DPW workers, |
1-4 |
and independent contractors worked around the clock to maintain our roadways, but were not |
1-5 |
always able to assist stranded motorists; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Like a white knight to the rescue, Christopher Vaiora saw an opportunity to |
1-7 |
make a difference to people trapped in their cars. He risked his own well-being by unselfishly |
1-8 |
helping stranded motorists just when they needed it most; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Sir Winston Churchill observed “We make a living by what we get, we |
1-10 |
make a life by what we give.” Christopher Vaiora opened his heart as he extended a helping hand |
1-11 |
and demonstrated to all Rhode Islanders what being a good neighbor truly means; now, therefore |
1-12 |
be it |

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
1-14 |
hereby thanks and applauds the generous efforts of Christopher Vaiora during the Blizzard of |
1-15 |
2013. We furthermore wish him continued health, happiness, and success in all his future |
1-16 |
endeavors; and be it further |
2-17 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-18 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Christopher Vaiora. |
