CONGRATULATING NICOLE ROMANO ON HER SUCCESS IN THE FASHION AND | |
JEWELRY INDUSTRY | |

     WHEREAS, It is always an honor to recognize and commend those distinguished |

individuals who have committed their lives to pursuing their passion; and |

     WHEREAS, Nicole Romano is such an individual and we take great joy in her success in |
1-4 |
the Jewelry and Fashion Industry, because it is through the collective energies of entrepreneurs |
1-5 |
like Nicole that our great state can continue to evolve; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, Nicole is the daughter of Salvatore and Linda Romano. A graduate of |
1-7 |
Lincoln High School, Nicole continued her education at the Rhode Island School of Design |
1-8 |
(RISD), where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, After graduating from RISD in 2000, Nicole moved to New York to assist |
1-10 |
in the production of fashion shows. Based on her job experience and work interning for designer |
1-11 |
Nicole Miller during college, Nicole decided to establish her own company. With the |
1-12 |
encouragement of Nicole Miller, she successfully did so in 2001 when she founded Nicole |
1-13 |
Romano Inc.; and |
1-14 |
     WHEREAS, Nicole was discovered by legendary "Sex in the City" stylist Patricia Field |
1-15 |
while an intern. As a result, Nicole's collections frequently appeared on the widely popular show, |
1-16 |
as well as in the movie based on the program, in fashion magazines, and in mass media. Her |
1-17 |
statement jewelry and unique dresses are favorites among the young Hollywood and socialite |
1-18 |
sets, and her bold, signature designs have been worn by some of the most stylish and intriguing |
1-19 |
people in the world; now, therefore be it |

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-21 |
hereby congratulates Rhode Island native Nicole Romano on her success in the Jewelry and |
2-22 |
Fashion Industry. We applaud her accomplishments and wish her the very best health and |
2-23 |
continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it further |
2-24 |
     RESOLVED, That this Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-25 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Nicole Romano. |
