EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF | |
DOLORES QUATTROCCHI | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of Dolores |

Quattrocchi, loving wife of Rocco A. Quattrocchi, devoted mother of Joseph A. Quattrocchi and |
1-3 |
his wife, Barbara, Cynthia Quattrocchi, and the late John J. M. Quattrocchi. She was also the |
1-4 |
beloved grandmother of Charles Ruggerio and his wife, Jillian, Rocco Quattrocchi and his wife, |
1-5 |
Alessandra, Joseph Quattrocchi and his wife, Krista, and Amanda Fallon and her husband, |
1-6 |
William, and the proud and doting great-grandmother to her beautiful great-granddaughter, Ava |
1-7 |
Ruggerio; and |
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Dolores was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edith |
1-9 |
DeRosa. At the age of three, she was the well-known radio star known as "Baby Dolores." From |
1-10 |
1931 through 1937, she sang on WPRO Radio with Buddy's gang, and for several years, her |
1-11 |
picture appeared on every loaf of Gorman's Bread; and |
1-12 |
     WHEREAS, By age 13, Dolores was singing at various locations throughout New |
1-13 |
England. While entertaining the troops during World War II, she met and fell in love with her |
1-14 |
future husband, Rocco. They were together from then until her passing, seventy-two years later; |
1-15 |
and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to making a home for her family, Dolores supported numerous |
1-17 |
charitable organizations. She was a member of St. Ann and St. Anthony Church and contributed |
1-18 |
to St. Agnes Church, as well as to the Chapel at Fatima Hospital; and |
1-19 |
     WHEREAS, There is no doubt that Dolores Quattrocchi, a kind, generous, and loving |
1-20 |
woman, left an indelible mark on the lives of those she knew and loved, and she will be dearly |

missed; now, therefore be it |

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-3 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the Quattrocchi Family on the passing of Dolores |
2-4 |
Quattrocchi; and be it further |
2-5 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-6 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Rocco A. Quattrocchi and Family. |
