EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF | |
CAPTAIN WILLIAM J. HALL | |

     WHEREAS, It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the passing of Captain |

William J. Hall, a man who was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and community. For |
1-3 |
twenty-one years, he was the beloved husband of Tracy Lyn (Croll) Hall. Our thoughts and hearts |
1-4 |
hold great empathy and sorrow for his two daughters, Sarah E. Hall and Alexis Brown. He was |
1-5 |
also the loving uncle of Jonathon, Kyle, and Lexi; and |
1-6 |
     WHEREAS, William was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, to his proud parents, William |
1-7 |
O. and Delores (Pinto) Hall. Graduating from Tollgate High School in 1985, Bill earned an |
1-8 |
Associate's Degree in Fire Science from CCRI and then a Bachelor's Degree from Roger |
1-9 |
Williams University in Public Administration; and |
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, Dedicated to helping others and serving the community, Mr. Hall chose a |
1-11 |
career as a firefighter. He joined the Central Coventry Fire District in 1991, where his leadership |
1-12 |
skills and abilities garnered attention and respect from his peers. Captain Hall established and was |
1-13 |
coordinator of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). He was also a member of |
1-14 |
the Coventry Arson Task Force, served on the Coventry Town Council and the Coventry Housing |
1-15 |
Association, and was Chairman of the Coventry Sewer Board; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn William’s passing, |
1-17 |
so, too, must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which he lived every day of his |
1-18 |
life; and |
1-19 |
     WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, uncle, and friend, William J. Hall will live on for |
1-20 |
many years to come in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have been touched by the |
2-1 |
quality of this remarkable gentleman; now, therefore be it |
2-2 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-3 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the entire Hall family on the passing of Captain |
2-4 |
William J. Hall. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and will be dearly missed; and be it |
2-5 |

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-7 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Tracy Lyn Hall. |
