EXPRESSING PROFOUND SYMPATHY ON THE PASSING OF ANNA L. PINGA | |

     WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Anna L. |

Pinga, beloved wife of the late Joseph Pinga and the devoted mother of our friend and former |
1-3 |
colleague The Honorable Michael J. Pinga, Louis J. Pinga, JoAnna Pinga and her husband, |
1-4 |
Leonard Arvidson, Jr., and the late Joseph P. Pinga; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Born in Providence to the late Luigi and Adeline Golato, Mrs. Pinga was the |
1-6 |
loving sister of Nicholas Golato, Dorothy Buccini, and the late Evelyn Bove; and |
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Anna Pinga’s personality created and nurtured a marriage that flourished, |
1-8 |
and a home that was warm and welcoming. She doted on her family, particularly her |
1-9 |
grandchildren, Melissa, Joseph, Jr., Nicole, and Michaella Pinga; and |
1-10 |
     WHEREAS, Possessing a patient and caring nature, Mrs. Pinga was the kind of mother |
1-11 |
and grandmother that every child needs and deserves and her consideration and thoughtfulness |
1-12 |
produced a supportive relationship with her daughter-in-law Brenda Pinga; and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, Over the years, the Pinga’s home was also shared by Mrs. Pinga’s beloved |
1-14 |
dog "Bella," as well as myriad friends; and |
1-15 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to her family life, Mrs. Pinga had been the owner and operator of |
1-16 |
Westcott Bakery since 1956. She was a wonderful cook and had been a member of the Sons of |
1-17 |
Italy, Lombardi Lodge, and the Democratic Senate District 9 Committee; and |
1-18 |
     WHEREAS, Anna Pinga was the heart and soul of her family. Her kindheartedness and |
1-19 |
sincerity will forever be indelibly imprinted on the lives and in the cherished memories of her |
1-20 |
entire family. She enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have known her and she |
1-21 |
will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it |
2-1 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-2 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the family of Anna L. Pinga; and be it further |
2-3 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-4 |
transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to The Honorable Michael J. Pinga and Family, |
2-5 |
Louis J. Pinga, and JoAnna Pinga and Family. |
