EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF MARY "MOLLY" | |

     WHEREAS, It is with the utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of |
1-2 |
Mary "Molly" Romano, a woman whose greatest joy was found in the simple pleasure of |
1-3 |
spending time with her dear family. Mary was the former wife of the late Arthur Romano; and |
1-4 |
     WHEREAS, Our thoughts and hearts hold empathy and sorrow for her family. We grieve |
1-5 |
with her son, Arthur M. (Artie) Romano and his wife, Susan, her grandson, Anthony J. Romano, |
1-6 |
and her brother, Michael Reilly and his wife, Ellen, as well as several nieces and nephews; and |
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her siblings Brigid Reilly and Christine |
1-8 |
O'Connell; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Molly dedicated her life to volunteering in Cranston for many causes close |
1-10 |
to her heart. She worked diligently for the Democratic Political Party, proudly greeted the |
1-11 |
military upon their return from duty, and, most especially, raised funds tirelessly for children |
1-12 |
affected by cancer; and |
1-13 |
     WHEREAS, Even though we are diminished by this loss and mourn the passing of Mary, |
1-14 |
so must we celebrate the spirit, generosity, and courage with which she lived every day of her |
1-15 |
life; and |
1-16 |
     WHEREAS, Our greatest tribute to Mary is to emulate the attributes which made her an |
1-17 |
outstanding wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary "Molly" Romano will live on for |
1-18 |
many years to come in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to have been touched by the |
1-19 |
quality of this remarkable woman; now, therefore be it |
2-20 |
     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-21 |
hereby expresses our deepest sympathy to the family of Mary "Molly" Romano at this time of |
2-22 |
tremendous loss and grief. She will be truly missed; and be it further |
2-23 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-24 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to her son, Arthur M. Romano and family. |
