     WHEREAS, In March of 1998, Fidelity Investments opened its first building on its |

Smithfield, Rhode Island, campus; and |

     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments has consistently expanded and now employs more than |
1-4 |
3,500 full-time employees in Smithfield; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments has built three LEED-certified buildings on its campus, |
1-6 |
totaling over 1.1 million square feet; and |
1-7 |
     WHEREAS, Fidelity employees serve on the boards of more than 50 nonprofit |
1-8 |
organizations in Rhode Island; and |
1-9 |
     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments is one of the world’s largest providers of financial |
1-10 |
services, with assets under administration of $4.0 trillion; and |
1-11 |
     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investments management, |
1-12 |
retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and many other |
1-13 |
financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals and institutions; now, |
1-14 |
therefore be it |

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
1-16 |
hereby celebrates June 25, 2013, as the 15th anniversary of Fidelity Investments’ grand opening in |
1-17 |
Smithfield and commends Fidelity Investments and its employees for their significant |
1-18 |
contributions to the State of Rhode Island; and be it further |
1-19 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
1-20 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to John Muggeridge, Vice President of Public |
