RECOGNIZING KATHLEEN VIERA BEAUDOIN FOR HER MANY YEARS OF SERVICE | |
TO THE TOWN OF PORTSMOUTH AND CONGRATULATING HER ON THE OCCASION | |
OF HER RETIREMENT | |

     WHEREAS, For more than twenty-six years, the fortunate citizens of the Town of |

Portsmouth have been the beneficiaries of knowledge and abiding dedication to excellence that |
1-3 |
Kathleen Beaudoin has brought to her work as the town's Clerk and, previously, as Deputy Town |
1-4 |
Clerk; and |
1-5 |
     WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Portsmouth, Kathleen began her distinguished career |
1-6 |
in public service on May 12th of 1987, when she was appointed as Deputy Town Clerk. On |
1-7 |
December 1st of 2003, she was promoted to the position of Town Clerk; and |
1-8 |
     WHEREAS, During her tenure as Clerk, Kathleen completed the updating of the town's |
1-9 |
Charter in 2004, 2010, and 2012. She also initiated computerization of Land Evidence and access |
1-10 |
to Land Evidence records on the internet, initiated and completed the Codification of Ordinances, |
1-11 |
organized and coordinated the Financial Town Meeting of 2006, and assisted with myriad |
1-12 |
preparations for Portsmouth's 375th Anniversary events; and |
1-13 |
      WHEREAS, Kathleen has also served Portsmouth as the Probate Court Clerk since |
1-14 |
1987, and is a member of the Common Fence Point Association; and |
1-15 |
     WHEREAS, In addition to her work for the town and her community involvement, |
1-16 |
Kathleen is happily married to her husband, Armand, and devoted to her dog, Lily; and |
1-17 |
     WHEREAS, Kathleen is one of those people you take for granted because she's always |
1-18 |
there making the town's events run smoothly. Her retirement will be a vast loss to the community |
1-19 |
and she will be greatly missed; now, therefore be it |

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
2-2 |
hereby recognizes Kathleen Viera Beaudoin on the occasion of her retirement. We wish her |
2-3 |
continued happiness, success, and fulfillment, as well as many more years to enjoy some richly |
2-4 |
deserved leisure time; and be it further |
2-5 |
     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
2-6 |
transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Kathleen Viera Beaudoin. |
