It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Title 23 of the General Laws entitled "HEALTH AND SAFETY" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following chapter: |
3 | CHAPTER 93 |
4 | REFERRAL TO SPECIALISTS |
5 | 23-93-1. Title. – This act shall be known as the “Frances Grasso Specialist Referral Act”. |
6 | 23-93-2. Patients’ rights. – A patient who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening |
7 | illness, and is in need of a referral to a medical specialist, shall have the right to specify the |
8 | specialist to whom he or she shall be referred. |
9 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
