CONGRATULATING RICHARD "DICK" STONELY ON THE JOYOUS OCCASION OF HIS | |
80TH BIRTHDAY | |

1 | WHEREAS, Richard "Dick" Stonely was born on January 25, 1934 and is a lifelong |
2 | resident of Lincoln, Rhode Island. He served our nation with honor and integrity in the United |
3 | States Coast Guard. He has been married to his wife Nancy for 53 years and together they raised |
4 | two sons, Todd and David; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Richard is a Master Plumber, having retired as a Field Superintendent after |
6 | more than 40 years at Marandola Plumbing and Heating in Johnston, Rhode Island; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Richard has spent much of his free time contributing significantly towards |
8 | the betterment of his community. He was a member of both the Fairlawn and Saylesville |
9 | Volunteer Fire Departments. He served over 50 years between both departments. He finally |
10 | retired from the Saylesville Fire Department as a Captain; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Richard served on the Lincoln Housing Authority for over 20 years, serving |
12 | several terms as Chairman. He served on the Credit Committee of the former Fairlawn Credit |
13 | Union, now the Pawtucket Credit Union. He served on the Boy Scouts Troop Committee for |
14 | Troop 64 in Saylesville and is a long-time member of the Sayles Memorial Church, now the |
15 | Chapel St. Congregational Church; and |
16 | WHEREAS, Richard is a vibrant part of the Lincoln, Rhode Island community. He is |
17 | well-known for his meticulous care of his home and property, and he never misses his "quiet |
18 | time" at breakfast at Shanna's in Lincoln; now, therefore be it |
19 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the state of Rhode Island and |

1 | Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Richard "Dick" Stonely on the joyous occasion of |
2 | his 80th birthday on January 25, 2014. We furthermore thank him for all he has done to make our |
3 | state and the town of Lincoln safe, secure and vibrant places to live; and be it further |
4 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
5 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Richard Stonely. |
