EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF DR. MILTON W. | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that this House has learned of the passing of Dr. |
2 | Milton Hamolsky, beloved husband and father, and esteemed leader and researcher in the field of |
3 | medicine; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Dr. Hamolsky was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, a son of the late Israel and |
5 | Sophie Hamolsky. He was the husband of the late Virginia Hamolsky, and the beloved husband |
6 | of Sandra Hamolsky for thirty-four years. He is also survived by his children, Deborah Hamolsky |
7 | and her spouse, Toby Dyner, David Hamolsky and his spouse, Tina, Joy Scharfman and her |
8 | spouse, Stewart, and Robin Folk and her spouse, Ron. He was also the proud grandfather of |
9 | Adam, Johnathan, Johanna, Rachel, Ginny and Sydney, father of the late John S. Hamolsky, and |
10 | grandfather of the late Spenser Scharfman; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Upon graduation from Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, Dr. |
12 | Hamolsky became an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, and later discovered the T3 |
13 | Uptake Thyroid Test while serving as a physician at Beth Israel Medical Center; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Already an accomplished physician, Dr. Hamolsky returned to Rhode Island |
15 | to become the first full-time physician-in-chief of medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and a |
16 | professor of medical science at Brown University. He was also instrumental in developing the |
17 | Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University; and |
18 | WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his family, his faith, his profession, and the |
19 | community, Dr. Hamolsky was a member of Temple Beth El, was the recipient of myriad awards |

1 | and honors within the medical community, and was a member of a panoply of medical |
2 | associations; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Highly respected among his peers, Dr. Hamolsky served as the first Chief |
4 | Administrative Officer of the Board of Medical Licensure & Discipline for the State of Rhode |
5 | Island. He was also an active board member of Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island; and |
6 | WHEREAS, A consummate professional, Dr. Hamolsky treated those around him with |
7 | kindness, dignity, and respect. He was beloved by his family, friends, and colleagues and he will |
8 | be greatly missed; now, therefore be it |
9 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
10 | Providence Plantations hereby expresses our deepest sympathies on the passing of Dr. Milton W. |
11 | Hamolsky; and be it further |
12 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
13 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Sandra Hamolsky and Family. |
