RELATING TO FISH AND WILDLIFE -- LICENSING

     

     Introduced By: Representatives O'Brien, Serpa, Palangio, Slater, and Keable

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 20-2-6 of the General Laws in Chapter 20-2 entitled "Licensing" is

hereby amended to read as follows:

     20-2-6. Appropriation of license fees. -- All moneys derived from payments received

4

from fresh water fishing, hunting, and combination licenses and permits in accordance with the

5

provisions of this chapter shall be deposited with the general treasurer and are appropriated to the

6

department for the protection and propagation of fish and game; and the state controller is

7

authorized and directed to draw his or her orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of

8

any sum, or sums, as may be necessary from time to time upon receipt by him or her of duly

9

authenticated vouchers presented by the director of environmental management; provided,

10

however, nothing in this section shall be construed to deprive the city and town clerks and agents

11

of their recording fees. The sum of two dollars ($2.00) from the sale of each license and permit

12

shall be placed in a special fund for the purposes of acquiring and developing fish and wildlife

13

lands acquisition, stewardship, and development of fish and wildlife lands.

14

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

     This act would allow funds collected from licensing fees to be used for the acquisition,

2

stewardship, and development of fish and wildlife lands.

3

     This act would take effect upon passage.
