J O I N T   R E S O L U T I O N

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF $15,000,000 FOR SERVICES FOR THE

DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED

     Introduced By: Representatives Guthrie, Edwards, Johnston, O`Grady, and Bennett

     Date Introduced: February 26, 2014

     RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not

otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2014-2015, the sum of fifteen million dollars

($15,000,000) to the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities &

Hospitals, Division of Developmental Disabilities for services for the developmentally disabled,

and the state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his orders upon the general

treasurer for the payment of said sum, or so much thereof as may be from time to time required,

upon receipt by him of properly authenticated vouchers; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That said funding shall be targeted to agencies that expand and create

programs that enhance work opportunities of the developmentally disabled in response to the

report by the United States Department of Justice titled, "United States' Title II ADA

Investigation of Employment, Vocational, and Day Services for Persons with Intellectual and

Developmental Disabilities in Rhode Island."

     This resolution would authorize the appropriation of the sum of $15,000,000 to the

Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals, Division of

Developmental Disabilities for services for the developmentally disabled.
