It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Section 41-5-22 of the General Laws in Chapter 41-5 entitled "Boxing and |
2 | Wrestling" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
3 | 41-5-22. Rules and regulations. -- The division of racing and athetics department of |
4 | business regulation may make such rules and regulations for the administration and enforcement |
5 | of this chapter as it may deem necessary. Provided, further, notwithstanding any provision of the |
6 | general or public laws to the contrary, the department of business regulation shall have the power |
7 | to adopt by rule or regulation, in whole or in part, any standards, rules, regulations, handbooks, or |
8 | other standards and procedures governing boxing as approved by the Association of Boxing |
9 | Commissions. The rules and regulations may also provide for, and regulate the granting of, a |
10 | special permit for exhibitions where no decision is to be rendered and where a skilled boxer or |
11 | boxers merely demonstrate the science of boxing. |
12 | SECTION 2. Section 41-5.2-25 of the General Laws in Chapter 41-5.2 entitled "Mixed |
13 | Martial Arts" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
14 | 41-5.2-25. Rules and regulations. -- The division of racing and athletics department of |
15 | business regulation may make such rules and regulations for the administration and enforcement |
