It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 16-9 of the General Laws entitled "School Funds and Property" is |
2 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 16-9-1.1. School department audit. -- Each school department in the state shall have an |
4 | audit conducted every ten (10) years. The cost of the audit is to be paid by the state, but when |
5 | savings are realized as a result of the audit, the school department shall reimburse the state for the |
6 | cost of the audit up to the savings resulting from the audit. |
7 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
