H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING THE UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND TEAM ON WINNING

FIRST PLACE IN THE STUDENT CASE COMPETITION AT THE 29TH ANNUAL

MINORITY BUSINESS CONFERENCE

     WHEREAS, University of Rhode Island students, Kelechi Agwunobi, Kenny Adefiyiju,

2

Raven Sannon, and Kwami Moreno, took first place in the Student Case Competition sponsored

3

by the Boston Metropolitan Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants; and

4

     WHEREAS, The competing teams were tasked with advising Tufts Medical on how to

5

move into the future. With hard work, immense preparation, and the support of URI Professors

6

Jervis and Hickox, the team presented their idea of expanding the medical center into the suburbs

7

in order to better serve the area's aging yet affluent demographic; and

8

     WHEREAS, With a professionalism that belied their ages, and an idea that was well

9

developed and thought through, the students worked for two weeks to perfect their presentation.

10

Ultimately their persistence was rewarded; and

11

     WHEREAS, There are always young people who rise above the rest, who dare to dream,

12

and are willing to endeavor to make those dreams become reality. Kelechi Agwunobi, Kenny

13

Adefiyiju, Raven Sannon, and Kwami Moreno are just such exceptional young people, and they

14

are truly deserving of our recognition and praise; now, therefore be it

15

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

16

Providence Plantations hereby applauds and congratulates Kelechi Agwunobi, Kenny Adefiyiju,

17

Raven Sannon, and Kwami Moreno on being the first place winners of the Student Case

18

Competition at the 29th Annual Minority Business Conference. We moreover wish them

19

continued success, good health, and much happiness; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That this Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Kelechi Agwunobi, Kenny Adefiyiju, Raven

3

Sannon, and Kwami Moreno.
