H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

CONGRATULATING THE CHEERLEADERS AND COACHES OF THE SUPERIOR CHEER

ALL GIRL SENIOR INTERNATIONAL LEVEL 5 TEAM ON THEIR "WORLD BID" WIN

AND WISHING THEM THE BEST OF LUCK AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN

FLORIDA

     WHEREAS, It is fitting that this House recognizes those young people who, through

their talents and unflagging commitment to excellence, have distinguished themselves and their

communities; and

     WHEREAS, Superior Cheer Gym is a cheerleading and gymnastics gym that provides

the coaching and equipment necessary to provide the best training for both these athletic

endeavors, and has locations in both Providence and Woonsocket; and

     WHEREAS, The Superior Cheer Senior International Level 5 Team, comprised of Cara

Cammuso, Chloe Cerpovicz, Madison Chasse, Victoria Cotton, Paige Daniels, Alexia Denaris,

Brittany Gagnon, Talia Giarrusso, Nakya Gray, Alie Hemenway, Bria Hogan, Devyn Kenyon,

Morgan Lalime, Madeline Morris, Savannah Palmer, Vanessa Priest, Amber Romano, Hope

Simas, Shayna Slater, Tori Taranto, and Victoria Ward, became National Champions and won a

"World Bid" in March of 2014, a first for any Rhode Island team; and

     WHEREAS, The team has been in the very capable hands and under the talented

guidance of Head Coaches, James Lemire and Will Scurry, and Assistant Coaches, Kimberly

Sturgis, and Dawn Castonguay, who is also the owner of Superior Cheer Gym All Stars; and

     WHEREAS, With beauty and grace under pressure, and demonstrating amazing athletic

skills, members of the Superior Cheer Senior International Level 5 Team jumped, danced,

twirled, and chanted their way to a glorious victory and the title of National Champions, and

earned a bid to the World Championship; and

     WHEREAS, The team has dedicated their amazing victories and has worn red bandanas

this season to honor a very special person who had been an integral part of the heart and strength

of the team for the past eight years but sadly passed away this year. Shannon Heil was beloved

by all and her spirit continues to inspire her teammates to do and be their very best; and

     WHEREAS, These beautiful and talented young ladies are most certainly a tremendous

source of pride not only for their parents and coaches, but for the community and our state as

well, and we are proud to honor their triumph; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby applauds and congratulates team members and coaches of the

Superior Cheer All Girl Senior International Level 5 Team on becoming National Champions.

We furthermore extend our sincere wishes for their continued success at the World Championship

in Florida; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to James Lemire and Will Scurry, Head Coaches

of the Superior Cheer All Stars.
