HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY | |

1 | WHEREAS, Wallace Wilson, Sr., will be celebrating his 80th birthday this August with |
2 | his sister, Doris, his children and their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended |
3 | family and friends; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Wallace Wilson, Sr., was born on August 23, 1934, in Newberry, South |
5 | Carolina, to William Wilson and Jessie Lee (Fribble) Wilson. He has lived through eight decades |
6 | of changes and challenges, and throughout it all, he has been a rock of stability and a great source |
7 | of love and devotion for his family, friends and the surrounding community; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Fifty-nine years ago Wallace Wilson, Sr., married his loving wife Mary E. |
9 | (Garmon) Wilson at St. James Baptist Church. Together, they made their home in Woonsocket, |
10 | Rhode Island, and raised eight wonderful children: Sheila Turner, Carol Wilson-Allen, Constance |
11 | "Connie" Wilson, Wallace Wilson, Jr., Victoria Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, Gary D. Wilson and |
12 | Rona E. Wilson. He and his wife have been blessed with thirteen grandchildren and two great- |
13 | grandchildren; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Mr Wilson was raised to be a spiritual man and he has lived his life in |
15 | service to the Lord. He taught his family that the Lord should be their first priority and if they |
16 | lean on him, anything can be conquered; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson always looked forward to and enjoyed the annual family road |
18 | trip to Georgia to visit family and friends. He relished the late nights and early mornings "holding |
19 | court" discussions with his wife Mary, and Minnie, Catherine, Mildred and Bea. To this day, Mr. |

1 | Wilson welcomes family and friends to his summer cookouts where there is an abundance of |
2 | food, laughter, good music from "Wilson LTD," and his girls dancing; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
4 | Providence Plantations hereby congratulates Wallace Wilson, Sr., on the joyous occasion of his |
5 | 80th birthday. We wish him and his family the very best health and much happiness; and be it |
6 | further |
7 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
