HONORING REPRESENTATIVE FRANK G. FERRI FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE | |
OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND | |

1 | WHEREAS, The Honorable Frank Ferri is a graduate of Classical High School and |
2 | Bryant College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1976; and |
3 | WHEREAS, In November of 2008, Frank Ferri was elected to the Rhode Island House of |
4 | Representatives from District 22, which encompasses neighborhoods in the City of Warwick. |
5 | Over the past five and a half years, he has served his constituents and the citizens of Rhode Island |
6 | with distinction and integrity; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Representative Ferri has served on myriad committees, most recently as a |
8 | member of the House Finance Committee, the House Small Business Committee, and Chair of |
9 | the House Commission to Study Public Higher Education Affordability. During his tenure with |
10 | the General Assembly, he has not only earned the admiration of his colleagues, but also the |
11 | gratitude of his constituents and the people of this state; and |
12 | WHEREAS, As a tireless advocate on a panoply of issues and causes, Representative |
13 | Ferri has been an outspoken supporter of marriage equality, both before and after he took office. |
14 | He also introduced and helped to enact the Good Samaritan Overdose Protection Act, and |
15 | legislation updating the state's fire code; and |
16 | WHEREAS, In addition, Representative Ferri has supported and promoted education on a |
17 | number of fronts, including sponsoring a student Leadership Award and studying higher |
18 | education affordability options. In 2013, he was honored as an "Afterschool Champion" by a |
19 | national organization; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Representative Ferri is married to Anthony M. Caparco and has been the |
2 | owner of Town Hall Lanes in Johnston for the past twenty-five years; and |
3 | WHEREAS, The Honorable Frank Ferri has touched the lives of so many people through |
4 | his diligent efforts and with the legislation he has fought to enact. He is truly an extraordinary |
5 | man, who serves as a model of dedicated and conscientious civic service, and he is eminently |
6 | worthy of our gratitude and acknowledgement; now, therefore be it |
7 | RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and |
8 | Providence Plantations hereby honors Representative Frank Ferri as he concludes his service in |
9 | the Rhode Island General Assembly. We thank him for a job well done, and extend our sincere |
10 | wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success; and be it further |
11 | RESOLVED, The Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to transmit |
12 | a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Honorable Frank G. Ferri. |
