1 | WHEREAS, Mary "Auntie Babe" Evangelista passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013 |
2 | at Elmhurst Extended Care. She was the wife of the late Mario Evangelista; and |
3 | WHEREAS, Mary Evangelista was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Lena |
4 | (Bucci) Francisco. Mary was a restaurateur and owner of the former Mario’s Restaurant on |
5 | historic Federal Hill in Providence, Rhode Island. She devoted her life to raising her two |
6 | nephews; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Mary "Auntie Babe" Evangelista is survived by her two nephews, State |
8 | Representative John J. Lombardi, Esq. and his wife Denise, and State Senator Frank S. Lombardi, |
9 | Esq. and his wife Antonelia, two great nieces, Cassandra and Christina Lombardi, and her good |
10 | friend Patricia Gagnon. She was the sister of the late Edward Bucci; now, therefore be it |
11 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
12 | hereby expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Mary "Auntie Babe" Evangelista; and |
13 | be it further |
14 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
15 | transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to State Representative John J. Lombardi, Esq. |
16 | and State Senator Frank S. Lombardi, Esq. |
