EXPRESSING ITS DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF EVANGELIA PETER

(VALMAS) RAPTAKIS

     WHEREAS, Evangelia Peter (Valmas) Raptakis of Coventry, Rhode Island passed away

on October 16, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, Rhode Island. She was

the wife of the late Paraskevas D. Raptakis; and

     WHEREAS, Evangelia Raptakis was born on October 30, 1930 in Andros, Greece. She

came to the United States in 1958 and worked in her family businesses, the Three Star Restaurant

and Venus Pizza, alongside her husband and family members. Her loving presence will be sorely

missed by her children, other family members, and friends; and

     WHEREAS, Evangelia Raptakis is survived by her beloved sons, Dimitrios P. Raptakis,

and his wife Karen Raptakis of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and State Senator Leonidas P.

Raptakis and his wife, Dr. Donna Raptakis, and her grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas

Raptakis of Coventry, Rhode Island. She was the sister of the late Maria Kyrtatas; now, therefore

be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses its deepest condolences to the Raptakis family on the passing of Evangelia Peter

(Valmas) Raptakis; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Dimitrios P. Raptakis, and Senator Leonidas P.

Raptakis.
