EXPRESSING OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JEAN S.

(PORRAZZO) FOSSA

     WHEREAS, Jean S. Fossa, the beloved wife for 56 years of The Honorable G. Richard

Fossa, former Mayor of North Providence, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2013,

surrounded by her loving family; and

     WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Jean S. Fossa was the daughter of the late Charles and

Antonetta (Gidari) Porrazzo. Jean was the devoted mother of Richard D. Fossa, and his fiancée

Teri, and Lorna J. Fossa-Moretti, and her husband Robert; grandmother of Briana, Sgt. Corey,

Brandon, Cameron and Casondra; and sister of Marian Porrazzo, Vilma Masciarelli, and the late

Peter Porrazzo; and

     WHEREAS, Jean was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for over 35 years at the

Roger Williams Medical Center and University Medical Center. She was beloved by her patients,

colleagues and superiors and was known for her tireless work ethic and devotion to her patients.

She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and all who knew her; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby expresses its deepest condolences to the Fossa family on the passing of Jean S. Fossa

(Porrazzo); and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to The Honorable G. Richard Fossa.
