EXPRESSING SINCERE CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF S. HENRY FORTE | |

1 | WHEREAS, It is with utmost sadness that this Senate has learned of the passing of S. |
2 | Henry Forte, beloved husband of Shirley Forte for sixty-five years, devoted father of Michael |
3 | Forte and his wife, Rebecca, Suzanne Doucette and her husband, Roland, and Pamela Godfrey |
4 | and her husband, Steve. He was also the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Brian |
5 | Doucette and wife, Rebecca, Gregory Doucette and wife, Dana, Megan Godfrey, Kaitlyn |
6 | Godfrey, Michael Forte, Jr., and wife, Tricia, William Forte, Christopher Forte, and Cameron |
7 | Forte, and two great-grandchildren, Henry Doucette and Alexander Doucette; and |
8 | WHEREAS, Born in Providence, Mr. Forte was the son of the late Robert and Rose |
9 | Forte. He is survived by his brother, David Forte. He was a graduate of Cranston High School |
10 | and attended the University of Rhode Island and Tulane University in Louisiana. For thirty-eight |
11 | years, he had been employed as an Electronic Engineer by Executone in East Providence; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Mr. Forte had served our country with honor and distinction in the United |
13 | States Navy during WWII. He later served in the Merchant Marines; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Committed to serving his community and his faith, Mr. Forte was a member |
15 | and had served as deacon of Phillips Memorial Baptist Church in Cranston. He was also a |
16 | member of the RI Ham Operator's Association, Doric Lodge #38 F&AM (Harmony Lodge # 9 |
17 | affiliate), Scottish Rite Valley of Providence, and the Rhode Island Shriners and its Oriental Band |
18 | Unit; and |
19 | WHEREAS, Mr. Forte was a steadfast gentleman who left this world a far better place |
20 | because of his life’s endeavors. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and he will be dearly |

2 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
3 | hereby expresses our deepest sympathies to the entire Forte Family on the passing of S. Henry |
4 | Forte; and be it further |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to |
6 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Shirley Forte and Family. |
