EXPRESSING ITS DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE BUTTS FAMILY ON THE | |
PASSING OF ANTHONY J. BUTTS | |

1 | WHEREAS, Anthony J. Butts was born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 7, 1935. |
2 | He was the son of the late Everett and Viola (Ursillo) Butts and the loving husband of Maria |
3 | Corsini-Butts; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Anthony was a long-time resident of Cranston, Rhode Island. He served the |
5 | City of Cranston with tireless devotion in various positions over a twenty-five year period. He |
6 | later served the State of Rhode Island with honor, integrity and diligence, retiring as a Deputy |
7 | Sheriff; and; |
8 | WHEREAS, Anthony enjoyed the simple things in life such as spending time with his |
9 | grandchildren, taking daytrips with his wife, reading books and watching football on Sundays; |
10 | and |
11 | WHEREAS, Anthony J. Butts, in addition to his wife, leaves behind his children, |
12 | Anthony Butts Jr. and John Russo, as well as Alfred, Alexander, and Anna Calvino, his |
13 | grandchildren Rebecca Hobbs, Gabriella, Sarah, Nicholas, Joseph Calvino, and Gabriel Correia, |
14 | and his great-granddaughter Lily Ann Hobbs. He was the brother of the late Francis E. Butts; |
15 | now, therefore be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
17 | hereby extends its deepest condolences to the Butts Family on the passing of Anthony J. Butts; |
18 | and be it further |
19 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
