RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING CHRISTIAN GRANT ON ACHIEVING | |
SCOUTING'S MOST DISTINGUISHED HONOR, THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT | |

1 | WHEREAS, Not every boy, nor even every Scout, qualifies for the high rank of Eagle. |
2 | Strenuous physical hurdles, high mental requirements, strong personal character, indomitable |
3 | spirit and a commitment to community service are a rare combination of qualities and |
4 | achievements to find in one person. Christian Grant is just such an extraordinary young man and |
5 | his accomplishments are truly worthy and deserving of our recognition and praise; and |
6 | WHEREAS, In spite of peer pressure and other influences, there are those teenagers who |
7 | rise to the challenge. Christian is just such a first-rate young man. As a member of Troop 1 |
8 | Diamond Hill Cumberland, he has demonstrated wide-ranging abilities, effective skills and the |
9 | kind of self confidence that makes him a worthy leader; and |
10 | WHEREAS, Learning important lifelong skills and values, Christian has earned |
11 | numerous merit badges and as the highlight of his scouting years, he completed the final step |
12 | toward obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout by planning and carrying out an extensive Eagle service |
13 | project; and |
14 | WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout requires considerable perseverance and is |
15 | considered to be the pinnacle of achievement with the Boys Scouts of America. It is an |
16 | exceptional distinction achieved by only about four percent of all the young men who enter |
17 | scouting; and |
18 | WHEREAS, It is essential and fitting to recognize the triumphs of our youth, and to |
19 | celebrate the accomplishments of our future leaders. Christian Grant is a remarkable young man |

1 | who exemplifies everything an Eagle Scout should be, and all that we hope our children will |
2 | grow to be; now, therefore be it |
3 | RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations |
4 | hereby honors Christian Grant for his untiring service to the community and for setting a high |
5 | standard of commitment and dedication by which youth of this great state may follow. We |
6 | congratulate him for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and extend our very best |
7 | wishes for good health and happiness in the months and years ahead; and be it further |
8 | RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to |
9 | transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Mr. Christian Grant. |
