EXPRESSING ITS DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THOMAS A. FOLEY

     WHEREAS, Thomas A. Foley passed away on October 13, 2013 in his home. He was

2

born in Concord, New Hampshire, a son of the late Robert and Marion (MacFadyen) Foley. He

3

had lived in Providence for the last 43 years; and

4

     WHEREAS, Tom worked diligently for the City of Providence for over 20 years as an

5

Environmental Enforcement Officer. He was the Past President of AFSCME 2869, and was a

6

former Democratic City Ward Committee President; and

7

     WHEREAS, One of the joys of Tom's life was his passion for the Red Sox. He was a

8

beard growing diehard fan who would have loved to see the Red Sox win the World Series in

9

Boston at Fenway Park. Tom was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sunshine

10

Wheelers Club; and

11

     WHEREAS, Besides his wife, Claire H. (Martin) Foley, Tom leaves behind a son, Bryan

12

P. (Heather) Foley of East Providence, a daughter Mrs. (Adam) Laurie Y. Arzoomaniam of

13

Cranston, a brother, Robert Gordon of East Concord, New Hampshire, a sister, Gertrude Odell, of

14

Tampa Bay, Florida, and three granddaughters, Kaylin, Olivia and Harper Rose Foley. He was

15

the brother of the late John, James and Robert Foley and Roberta Babbidge; now, therefore be it

16

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

17

hereby expresses its deepest condolences to the Foley family on the passing of Thomas A. Foley;

18

and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Claire H. (Martin) Foley.
