RELATING TO TAXATION - INCOME TAX REFUNDS - STATE TAX OFFICIALS | |

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 44-1 of the General Laws entitled "State Tax Officials" is hereby |
2 | amended by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 44-1-36. Automatic deposit income tax refund. – All filers of state income tax returns |
4 | shall be given the option of having their income tax refund directly deposited into a bank account |
5 | chosen by the taxpayer. |
6 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
