It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 23-19.12 of the General Laws entitled "Generation - |
2 | Transportation - Storage - Treatment - Management and Disposal of Regulated Medical Waste" is |
3 | hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: |
4 | 23-19.12-10.1. Hospitals and pharmacies. – Notwithstanding any provision of law to |
5 | the contrary contained in any general or public law, rule or regulation, hospitals and pharmacies |
6 | shall provide for public use containers for the collection of sharps as defined in § 23-19.12- |
7 | 3(7)(iii)(D). |
8 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
