It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: | |
1 | SECTION 1. Chapter 11-47 of the General Laws entitled "Weapons" is hereby amended |
2 | by adding thereto the following section: |
3 | 11-47-63. Prohibition of possession of explosive materials. – (a) Any person who is |
4 | prohibited from possessing a firearm shall be prohibited from the possession of explosive |
5 | materials as defined in 27 CFR 555.23 – List of explosive materials. Any license or permit, issued |
6 | to a person so prohibited to conduct blasting operations or conduct displays of fireworks or |
7 | pyrotechnics shall be immediately revoked or suspended for the duration of the prohibition to |
8 | possess firearms. |
9 | (b) Every person who violates the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be |
10 | punished by imprisonment of not more than five (5) years, or a fine of not more than five |
11 | thousand dollars ($5,000), or both. |
12 | SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
