1

WHEREAS, There is an illusion that youth equals strength and invincibility. When that

2

myth is shattered, it leaves an agonizing void in the foundation of our beliefs, the belief that

4

has learned of the untimely passing of Brian E. Moretti; and

5

WHEREAS, A resident of Olean, New York, but raised in Cranston, Brian was the

8

Colagiovanni and her husband Marc. He was also the grandson of Marie Moretti, Norma

9

Tagliaferri, and the late Everett Moretti and Paul Tagliaferri; and

10

WHEREAS, Brian was blessed with a large and loving family. He leaves his aunt and

11

best friend, Linda Tagliaferri and his nieces Addison Grace, Ella Rose and Mia Elizabeth, who he

12

dearly loved and adored, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many friends;

13

and

14

WHEREAS, An active, bright, and articulate young man, Brian was a graduate of

15

Cranston High School West where he had earned the distinction of being the only junior to be

16

chosen as captain of the varsity hockey team in the school's history. He received his Bachelor of

17

Science in Sports Entertainment/Event Management at Johnson & Wales University where he

18

also played varsity hockey and worked in the school's athletics department, and continued his

19

education, receiving his Master of Science in Sports Administration at Canisius College; and

1

WHEREAS, Brian had been employed as the Assistant Sports Information Director at

2

Saint Bonaventure University and had recently been named the university's Marketing Director of

3

Athletics. He had previously worked as a member of the external affairs staff at Canisius; and

4

WHEREAS, An altruistic young man, Brian had volunteered with a panoply of

5

organizations and sports leagues in various states, including Armstrong Hockey of Warwick,

6

Rhode Island; and

7

WHEREAS, Brian possessed a free-spirited soul and his humor could light up a room.

8

He was supportive and welcoming and freely shared his incredible love and cheerful heart with

9

his family and friends; and

10

WHEREAS, The most fitting tribute to Brian Moretti is a celebration of his life, a life in

11

which each and every day was lived fully and joyfully embraced. He was fortunate to have

12

always enjoyed the total love and support of his family, and in return he enriched the lives of all

13

around him. He will be dearly missed; now, therefore be it
