CONGRATULATING WPRO NEWS REPORTER KIMBERLY KALUNIAN ON BEING

NAMED RHODE ISLAND'S CHERRY BLOSSOM PRINCESS IN A CROWNING

CEREMONY ON FEBRUARY 14, 2014, AT THE RHODE ISLAND STATE HOUSE

     WHEREAS, Ms. Kimberly Kalunian is a well-respected reporter and producer on

2

Newstalk 630 WPRO, and is also a very talented professional stage actress. Kim is an active

3

member of her community. She regularly volunteers for the East Greenwich Animal Protection

4

League, including organizing their annual fundraiser called "Animal Prints," and the Gloria

5

Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation; and

6

     WHEREAS, It is fitting that such a talented, beautiful and vivacious young woman has

7

been chosen to be Rhode Island's 2014 Cherry Blossom Princess, and she will be honored on

8

February 14, 2014, with a crowning ceremony at the Rhode Island State House; and

9

     WHEREAS, Kim will join other Cherry Blossom Princesses from other states for a week

10

in our nation's capital. She will represent Rhode Island, attending congressional receptions,

11

visiting with international dignitaries, attending the Cherry Blossom Ball, engaging in cultural

12

and educational activities and participating in the national Cherry Blossom parade. She will also

13

host Rhode Island's own Cherry Blossom Festival this spring; now, therefore be it

14

     RESOLVED, That this Senate hereby congratulates WPRO news reporter Kimberly

15

Kalunian on being named Rhode Island's 2014 Cherry Blossom Princess; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

2

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Kimberly Kalunian.
